Fun with Friends

This last Tuesday we had so much fun with our friends! Every Tuesday the mothers in our ward get together to have lunch while our kids play. I finally remembered to take a picture of all the fun friends we have here! I really have enjoyed the ward that we are in we will really miss all of our friends that we have made here when we leave! This defiantly has been a joyous time in our lives.

Kaden's new favorite toy!

Kyle wanted me to mention to everyone the great shirt that Kaden is wearing! LOL He got the shirt for Kaden before he was even born and he finally fits in it. Kyle actually has a matching one.


This is Kaden’s new favorite toy! He loves playing in this laundry basket! Who cares about all the fun toys we have when there is a laundry basket right?? LOL! Last night Kyle and Kaden had so much fun playing. Kyle would push Kaden around and Kaden would laugh and laugh. Then Kyle would push Kaden by the door and then hide and pop out at him. They had so much fun! (I had even more fun watching them;) Then all day today Kaden was pushing the basket around everywhere he went the basket went. Then it was time for a snack and where did he want to eat it? The basket of course! Today really was a fun day with him.

This is the precious little girl Isabelle that we watch during the week. We love playing with Isabelle and I have seen this soft sweet side of Kaden as he has started to get used to her being around. She usually never cries but this last Wednesday she did and Kaden sat down right next to her and started patting her shoulder! It was the sweetest thing I have ever seen him do. I think he will is going to be a great big brother in the future.

" I'm a big boy now "

Kaden has really always been an independent little boy but it is really making for some big messes. Lately he has wanted to do everything himself and does not want any help especially from mom and dad. He is so funny because we are working on using a spoon when he eats and he will use it for a while but then when I am not looking he will pick up the bowl and just start inhaling the food. It really reminds me of watching Jared eat when we were younger! LOL! Later that same day he wanted to drink out of my water bottle his sippy just wasn’t cutting it! He surprisingly did pretty well and I think we need to start trying cups every now and then. Then the other day Kyle was eating some yogurt and Kaden kept asking and asking Kyle to share and Kyle would give him a bite every now and then. All of the sudden Kaden comes back with his own spoon! I guess Kyle was not giving it to him fast enough! LOL! He has had this really funny, cute and stubborn personality come out lately that has been fun and challenging for us as parents.

Valentines

Well I have been trying to figure out a better way to post a lot of pictures at one time so I am just now writing about out Valentines Day! A lot went on this weekend so here we go... The day before Valentines Kaden had his first nursery valentine activity. It was so much fun to watch him interact with all the kids. We got there and they had tons of sugar cookies for all the kids to decorate. Kaden really enjoyed doing what all the other big kids where doing. Best of all he loved eating all the different candies they had. Then they had a little bean bag toss and Kaden really did get how to do it but he had fun trying! Then they just let all the children run around and do what they want. Kaden was really funny because he would play with the kids he knew but he would stay really close by. (I think we really need to start playing with more kids) Then the next day on Valentines Kyle got up with Kaden and let me sleep in a little. Then I got up and made a Valentine heart breakfast for Kyle. (Thanks for the fun heart shape pancake tin Sherry!) Then Kyle brought me home some flowers and chocolates and a huge bear for Kaden. Kaden loves that bear he has been playing with it every since Kyle walked in the door. It is bigger than his so he can't really carry it but Kyle has taught him to body slam and so he just wrestles with it. The rest of the night I spent decorating cupcakes with Erin Jensen because Kyle had so much stuff to do. Erin just bought this cake decorating set so we just played around and had so much fun using our creative minds to make our masterpieces. Lol:) I will put more pictures of that up later! Then for our Valentines Kyle and I went out last night. We went to Sizzler and to a movie with some free movie tickets we got from Kyle work. It was really nice to get out and spend some time with Kyle and just talk. I really cherish the times we get to go out together!

My little helper!

This last Thursday Kaden and I got up and had breakfast and then I put a movie on for him so that I could get the dishes done. About 10 min later he walks in the kitchen dragging the mop behind him! It instantly put a smile on my face! He spent the next 10 to 15 min just mopping the floor while I finished the dishes. He has really started to be such a good little helper around the house! We now have given him the job of holding the dust pan while we sweep the dirt in and he loves to do it!(thanks for the idea Ty and Jen) I am just blown away by how fast he is growing! I thank Heavenly Father everyday for the opportunity I have to stay home with him and watch him learn and grow. I am so thankful that I have such a great husband who works so hard in supporting our family so that I can stay home and do what I have always wanted to do.

New addition to the Family!

This is our newest addition to the Sorensen Family. Kaden has really shown a lot of interest in animals the past month. So the cheapest pet we could find is this little Beta fish. We named him Logan and Kaden has been having so much fun watching him swim and helping us feed him. Kaden is constantly asking for us to hold him up to see Logan! It has been really fun to have a little pet around!

Kaden and I have been trying to get out more lately. Because of the weather we cannot play outside to long so we found this alternative. At least once a week we have been going to the Logan Mall to walk around and play in their little play area for kids. The first couple of times that we went Kaden would just sit close to me and watch the other kids as they played, (He has really become more and more like me in that aspect) but as you can see in the pictures he has really started to love playing on the little things that they have there. I have really enjoyed watching him test his boundaries and try new things. The top picture is such a fun one of him and his good friend Hayden Jensen. Hayden's dad, Derrick is one of Kyle's old college buddies from hid first year at Snow College. His wife Erin and I have become very close and we get together often to talk and watch the boys play together. We are determined they will be the best of friends!

Well I am sorry that I have not been able to write much on here! Our computer is so slow and it takes forever to upload everything. So I have been avoiding it! I have taken a ton of pictures of the recent events in our family so I remember what to write about!

Kaden and I have been having a ton of fun lately as we have had to opportunity to have many friends over every week. This semester I am watching two cute little girls! The one in the picture is Melynda Alger we play with her every Monday and Wednesday from 9 until 10:30. She is about 5 days older than Kaden so they get along quit well. The other little girl we baby-sit is Isabelle Christiansen. She is about 11 months old and just the sweetest little girl I have ever seen. (Besides Isabelle Cooper that is) We watch her while her mom goes to class on Mon and Wed from 1 until 2:30. This has been really great for me and Kaden! Kaden is learning to share and play with other children while I am learning what it will take when we have another. (I am also hoping watching these 2 little girls will up my chances of having a girl next!) LOL
