Today has been one of those days. You know when you are going through hard times that last a while and you have ups and downs of hopeful days and not so hopeful days?( I hope its not just me) Well today is one of those not so hopeful days. Kyle and I have been really working hard to stay positive and have faith that we will get through this. I have no doubt that we will but I think my hope is just a little bit lower today than it has been in the past. Today was one of the first days since Kyle was told that he would not have a job that it really affected us. It is hard on both of us but I think especially kyle because of how serious he takes his role as provider. The fact that we have had to rely on others to provide for necessities is really hard for us. Not that we don't appreciate every bit of help that we have been given it is just hard. I write this because I would really like to hear from anyone who has maybe been through something like this what they did as a wife to support and lift their husband. As a wife I feel some of the pressure but I will ever really understand how it would feel to be in his position.
So I just had to get that all out and vent a little and now I think it is good for me to write some positive things for me to remember. I started writing this a week or so ago and I wanted to finish it.
So I have been thinking about this topic for a while. I have been wanting to write something on it but just have been putting it off. I was told once at a very young age in a blessing that in times of stress and unease in my life if I will listen to uplifting music that the spirit will bring comfort and peace no matter the circumstances. I believe this is true with all of my heart. The last few months have been some of great unease. Some days are easier than others for me. It seems like Satan is trying really hard to put thoughts of fear and doubt into my mind. This morning I woke up surprisingly early and could not go back to sleep. There was a song that I just kept singing and thinking about. Its called "Sometimes he lets it rain" by Katherine Nelson. Here are the
lyrics that I got from the song.
She sees the storm clouds gather the sky is turning cold and gray. She knows that somethings coming when she starts to feel this way. She pleads for intervention but Heaven offers no relief and she would understand if she could only see.
Sometimes he lets it rain he lets the fierce winds blow. Sometimes it takes a storm to lead a heart where it can grow. He can move mountains of grief and oceans of pain but sometimes he lets it rain.
When her heart surrenders to the master in control her spirit learns the lessons of the tempest in her soul. When its no longer raging she can see how far shes come through the wisdom and the mercy of the sun.
Sometimes he lets it rain he lets the fierce winds blow. Sometimes it takes a storm to lead a heart where it can grow. He can move mountains of grief and oceans of pain but sometimes he lets it rain.
There is no joy without the pain sometimes he has to let it rain
There is no joy without the pain sometimes he has to let it rain
There is no joy without the pain sometimes he has to let it rain
Sometimes he lets it rain he lets the fierce winds blow. Sometimes it takes a storm to lead a heart where it can grow. He can move mountains of grief and oceans of pain but sometimes he lets it rain.
There are some really profound lines in this song that I want to bear Testimony about. The words in the second verse have been the most influential for me. I testify that the trials we go through are there for our good. They make us who we are and better than we could ever be if just had an easy life. I believe sometimes it takes a storm to really show us how strong we really are. I think Heavenly Father in his wisdom lets it rain to test us but also to show us how strong we really are. Sometimes I think that we forget what we can be and who we really are and these "storms" in our life remind us of that. I am determined to make the best of what Heavenly Father gives me. I WILL become what he has planned for me. I WILL make it through this life fighting and relying on the Lord. I know I can't do it without him. I know if we turn to him when our storms come he will bring comfort and we will be able to understand how we need to grow from our trials. In the end we will be what he intended us to be. I testify that the music we listen to can be a great strength in lifting us up when times are hard. I am grateful that I know of the true gospel of Jesus Christ. I am grateful for the strength and true happiness that the gospel brings to my life.

I love reading your thoughts though it reminds me of your Releif Society lessons and the wonderful spirit that you brought. Now that I am not in school and just working full-time I have a lot more time to catch up with old friends and I am so grateful for the wonderful world of Bloggin! Also Congrats on your second addition to your family! As well as moving to Bountiful. I've always liked that area, Jeff and I were married in the Bountiful Temple. Jeff also has two sisters that live in Bountiful as well as one in Woods Cross so we used to visit that area a lot when we were in Logan.
