This last weekend we had a little scare with Kaden. He has had stomach aches for the past 2 weeks on and off. It was really weird because one day he is fine and then the next day he is throwing up or has diarrhea with really bad stomach pains and a high fever. This last Sunday he had a fever of 102 and was crying and complaining that his stomach hurt. So I took him to an Instacare at 8pm and they checked him out and they thought it might be appendicitis so they sent us to the ER at Primary Children's. By this time I had been waiting for 2 hours while they were trying to figure out whats wrong.
So by the time we got to the hospital it was 11:00 pm. It was a very rough night. They took some blood and gave Kaden an IV. That was pretty traumatic because Kaden has not gone to the doctor and been poked since he was 1. Then they had to do some x-rays and later a CT scan. The x-rays were fine but for the CT scan they had to put some type of fluids up him rectally. That again was traumatic for him! Then they had to get a urine sample so they had to put a catheter in, again TRAUMATIC! :( It was a hard night for me Kyle and Kaden. By the time most of the tests came back it was 6:30 am and they wanted to keep him for a few hours more and just monitor him to make sure things are improving.
Kyle stayed with him while I went home and fed Parker and got some sleep. They moved them to a new room and Kyle said that he would NOT lay on the bed. So Kyle had to hold him while he got some sleep. I went back to the hospital around 4 and we did a few more hours of waiting. Then a doctor came in and talked to us about the tests and what they found. He said everything looked good and he said the they are not really sure what could be causing his stomach to hurt. He told us that it could be a viral thing or it could be that he has been sick on and off for so long that toxins had built up in his body and just needed some help getting out. So they told us just to watch him and if he does not get better he needs to be seen again. Anyways that is the very quick version. We are so glad that he is home and doing better! We are crossing our fingers that it's gone!
On a lighter note Parker is now 1 month old! I have some pictures that I took that I will be posting as soon as I can!

Poor little Kaden :-(
Oh no! I'm so sorry Kaden is sick and going through that. I hope he's better soon.
I just hate it when there are medical problems that they can't diagnose properly. We have had our share of those. I hope that Kaden feels better soon.
Sad!! I'm sure glad that all of the tests came back okay! Sounds like a very tough night, especially considering you have a 1 month old baby! You guys are troopers:)
