Tagged????

Well it has taken me forever to do this because I don' think I totally understood the concept of tagging. Anyways for those of you who don't know in the Blogger world we do this thing called tagging and it is when you ask someone a question or a series of questions and you have to have to write about them and post them on your blog. I guess it helps on those days you don't really know what to write about! Anyways here we go.... Erin tagged me and asked me to write 3 things I love beside my husband, children and soda so here they are.

1) The Gospel/The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints: I am so grateful for the knowledge that I have of the gospel in my life. I know that there is an important reason why I am here on Earth at this time. I know that I have a Heavenly Father and Mother that love me and hear and answer my prayers. I know that Joseph Smith was and is a prophet of God. I know that he saw God the Father and his son Jesus Christ at the young age of fourteen. I know that he translated the scriptures and restored the gospel in these latter days. I know that scriptures are true and in them you can find precious truths that will lead us back to our Father in Heaven. I know that Thomas S. Monson is called of God and he leads and guides this church today. I know that Christ came to this earth and died for me so that I may return to my home in Heaven and be with my Heavenly parents there. I know because of him I can be together with my family forever. I am eternally grateful for this knowledge that I have and I am want to do everything I can to share the beauties that this gospel has brought into my life.

2) Being a mother: I am so grateful to be a mother here on Earth at this time. I am humbled and overwhelmed of the tasks that come with being a mother. I have no doubt that the Lord knows that I can do it and the only real way I can do it is with the Lords help. I think that Julie B. Beck sums it up perfectly when she says "The responsibility mothers have today has never required more vigilance. More than at any time in the history of the world, we need mothers who know. Children are being born into a world where they “wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12).1 However, mothers need not fear. When mothers know who they are and who God is and have made covenants with Him, they will have great power and influence for good on their children."(Sis Beck Oct. 2007 General Conference) I know with ALL my heart that this is true and that my role as a "mother who knows" here upon this earth "is a far greater contribution to society than those who command large armies or stand at the head of impressive corporations" (Standing for Something- President Gordon B. Hinckley)

3) Record keeping: I am not sure if that really makes sense but I will try to explain. I am so grateful for the knowledge I have of the importance of record keeping. A perfect example of record keeping that I am grateful for is the Scriptures. We would not have the beauties of the scriptures without those prophets and people understanding the importance of record keeping. Another one I can think of is the records of the Pioneers and the sacrifice that they made so that we can have what we do today. I don't think that we would appreciate this country half as much if we did not have a record of how it came about. I am so grateful for my own journals that I have kept. They have been a great source of strength in my life. To go back and to read the decisions that I have made that have brought me where I am today helps me truly understand how much the Lord has played such a big a part in my life and in blessing me.

Well these ended up being a whole lot longer than I thought but I can be pretty long winded when talking about things that I care so much about! LOL :)
